Setting up Customers
You set up your customers by selecting Master Files; Customer from the Administraive Module. The screen has 5 tabs for entering customer information.

Five navigation buttons will allow you to select a customer to view/edit, or delete. Press Add to create a new customer. To make any changes to a selected customer, select the customer you wish to change and click the 'Edit' button. Click 'Save' to update the file with any new information, or press 'Undo' to discard the changes.

NOTE: You cannot delete the special customer number 9999999. This is the 'catch-all' account which is used for Quick Ticket entry. You may not edit the customer name on this account. To turn off the quick ticket capability, make this customer inactive.

The General tab is used to enter basic identification information, such as company name, address, city, state and zip. You may enter a persons name and drivers license information, and even scan an image of the license to keep on file. Indicate the customer type which will control which transactions that the customer is eligible for. A bar code can be scanned into the system and associated with the customer for rapid customer retrieval.

The Buy/Sell tab is where you configure the customer for buying and selling scrap. The 'Account Type', 'Account Manager', 'Broker/Trader','Pay Method ' and 'Pay Terms' are user defined fields that you set up in User Defined Tables. The 'Pay to' and 'Bill to' fields allows you to set up alternate default customers for billing and paying. If you pay this customer by check, enter the default information to print on the check.

To give a customer preferrential pricing, you can assign up to 3 price lists to the customer. If you do not assign a customer with a list, then the customer will simply get the 'scale' price. A customer may have up to 3 price lists assigned, and the system will search the price lists in sequnce to find an automatic price for the commodity being purchased. If the system finds the commodity in a price list, it uses that price and stops searching. If the system searches all of the customer's assigned price lists without finding the commodity, then the default scale price is used.

Optionally, you can set up alternate shpping and billing Addresses. Also, additional contact names and numbers can be created.
